News Stories

Golf Trick Shot Artist and PGA Life Member Peter Longo appeared last week at The Arizona Deaf and Blind Children's Association charity golf tournament in Phoenix, Arizona.

Also appearing was accomplished blind golfer, Dick Pomo of Tucson. Dick hit a drive with every group on hole #18 and socialized with participants before, during and after golf.

Peter took note that it was another example of the rich addition golf plays in the lives of people with disabilities.

"I have taught disabled golf for 25 years the world over and I have seen how adaptable the game is to any swing. As for the blind, golf is the perfect game because the action is done from a standstill. Some of them, like Dick Pomo, are incredibly good at the sport.

I heartily encourage any blind person, or anyone else with a disability, to take up golf immediately and begin reaping the benefits of the challenge, the beauty and the camaraderie every golfer enjoys."
